Nov 4 - Big Crowd Attends Grand Junction Rally

More than 200 enthusiastic and energized volunteers crammed into the Mesa County Democratic Headquarters this morning to get fired up by Bill, Barbara, John Salazar, Mark Udall, and Bernie Buescher. That's more than twice as many who showed up for a Bob Beauprez-Scott Tipton rally in Grand Junction a day earlier -- and this is supposed to be a "red" county!!

"The Colorado Promise is very much alive in these two people," John Salazar said as he introduced Bill and Barbara.

"I really feel an emotional tie to the people of Mesa County," Bill said, "because of your commitment to Colorado and your commitment to elect responsible leaders."

The visit to Grand Junction was the first stop in a weekend plane trip around Colorado that also will take Bill and Barbara to Steamboat Springs, Gunnison, Durango, Alamosa, and Greeley.

Over the past two weeks, Bill and Barbara have visited more than 40 counties and traveled nearly 3,000 miles as part of their statewide Colorado Promise tour.

Nov 2 - Bus Tour Swings Across Northeast Colorado

Nov02_ftmorgan The Colorado Promise bus tour is barnstorming across the Eastern Plains today, with stops in more than a half-dozen communities. Bill and Barbara rallied voters in Fort Morgan, Brush, Sterling, Paoli, Wray, Yuma, and Akron.

Several of Bill's family -- all wearing their white Ritter for Governor T-shirts -- are traveling on the bus today. They all sat together on the bench at Northeastern Junior College while Bill spoke to students in the gym.

Tomorrow, the bus stays in the metro area with New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar to encourage voters to take advantage of the last day of early voting and to kick off Bill's final 96-hour Get Out The Vote drive.

Nov 1 - Colorado Promise Tour Visits Fort Collins and Castle Rock

Nov01_ftcollinsaGubernatorial candidate Bill Ritter rode his "Colorado Promise" tour bus into Fort Collins today, rallying more than 100 supporters during a noontime rally aimed at getting out the vote. Ritter called on voters of all political stripes to make their voices heard by voting early, voting by absentee ballot, or voting on Nov. 7. "We all win when everyone votes," Ritter told the crowd gathered in Old Town Plaza Square.

He said his "Colorado Promise" platform of education and health-care reform, economic stimulation, renewable energy, and environmental protection are not Democratic ideas or Republican ideas. "They are American ideas," he said.

Nov01_ftcollinsbRitter embarked on the statewide "Colorado Promise" tour on Oct. 21. Since then, the tour has traveled more than 2,000 miles and visited nearly three dozen communities. Joining Ritter on the bus today were Colorado Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Waak, state treasurer candidate Cary Kennedy, and congressional candidate Angie Paccione.

"There is a dramatic difference between myself and Congressman Beauprez," Ritter said. "We have a plan for how we go forward in the 21st century to make Colorado a better place for our kids and our grandkids. He doesn’t. If we don’t make investments in our future, we do so at our peril."

Earlier today, Ritter joined state Sens. Joan Fitz-Gerald and Betty Boyd for high-visibility honk-and-waves in Jefferson County. Ritter also toured Poudre Valley Hospital and met with physicians. This evening, he will hold a rally in Castle Rock.

On Thursday, the "Colorado Promise" tour will visit Northeast Colorado, and on Friday Ritter will kick off his final 96-hour push to Election Day. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson will join Ritter on the tour bus in and around metro Denver.
